Psychiatrist Dr. Sujata Bhattacharya passed the MBBS examination from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, DPM from the Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata, and MD (Psychiatry) from Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital. Dr. Bhattacharya worked as a Medical Officer in various State medical colleges of West Bengal, namely, SSKM Hospital, NRS Medical College & Hospital, Calcutta National Medical College & Hospital and Calcutta Pavlov Mental Hospital.

Dr. Sujata Bhattacharya is keenly interested in the fields of child psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. A Life Member of the Indian Psychiatric Society, Dr. Bhattacharya has articles published in the International Journal of Psychiatry. Dr. Bhattacharya is presently attached to the Barasat District Hospital and can also be consulted at the Blessing Polyclinic in Sinthee, Kolkata.
